Further Information

2021 was another challenging year in a global pandemic. Few were unaffected and as we look back at some of our memorable cases, events and initiatives, we are grateful for our good fortune.

A huge thank you to our clients and to the firms and individuals who partnered with us this year. We look forward to working and collaborating with you in 2022.

  • Military climbing accident

We successfully resolved liability with the MOD on behalf of our client, who suffered serious spinal and head injuries on a novice climbing course in Bavaria, Germany. The case continues and the parties have agreed to attempt to reach an out of court settlement by April.

  • Cycling Accident – Army Major

Our client, a keen amateur cyclist, was injured in a head on collision with a motor car and suffered significant arm and facial injuries.  A 5-figure out of court settlement was agreed with the motorist’s liability insurer, with no admission of liability.

  • Accident at work – Serious laceration to arm

Dean suffered a serious life-changing injury in an accident at work.  A 6-figure out of court settlement was negotiated with the Defendant’s insurer.

‘My advice to anyone making a personal injury claim is to use Alma Law. My experience   has been so positive…the effort and way things are done is superb.’

  • Winning AFCS Appeal for Armed Forces Veteran

Major JB developed Noise Induced Hearing loss (NIHL) after being exposed to acute acoustic trauma during a distinguished 37-year career in the Royal Artillery.  He was refused a War Pension and an AFCS award by Veterans UK.  He appealed successfully to the First Tier (War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation) Tribunal.  We acted pro bono for Major JB.

“I am delighted with the outcome of the AFCS appeal, particularly as both applications were rejected, unfairly in my view. However, it was Grant who gave me the confidence to carry on with the process and appeal both the War Pension and AFCS decisions. Grant, being a Veteran himself, identified that the original decisions were unjustified”
