Our Services

As a fast, flexible and reliable method of transport, as well as the health and environmental benefits, it’s not difficult to see why people choose to cycle. Whether it’s cycling for pleasure or as part of a commute to work, people are getting back in the saddle and cycling has never been more popular.

Cycle traffic trends in the UK have increased significantly. The number of miles cycled in 2019 was 3.4 billion, around 36% than it was 20 years ago. However, this rise in popularity has also meant a rise in car accidents involving cyclists. According to the insurers, More Th>n, in 2020 the proportion of car insurance claims they received for bodily injury involving cyclists, pedestrians and motorcyclists accounted for around one in five (20%) bodily injury claims, up from one in 10 (10%).

Despite dedicated cycle paths and bicycle safety campaigns, cyclists remain vulnerable when using our roads. Tragically, we see many cyclists who sustain life-changing injuries after being involved in a collision. Whilst we cannot turn back the clock, we will work tirelessly on your behalf to ensure that you receive the best rehabilitation and medical care possible and recover compensation to help rebuild your life.

Cycle Accident Claims

If you have been injured in a bicycle accident after being knocked off your bike, or having struck a hazardous pothole in road, you may be entitled to compensation. You generally have 3-years from the date of the accident to settle your claim or start court proceedings. The amount of compensation that you can recover will vary enormously depending on the seriousness of your injuries. You can claim compensation for the following:

  • Personal injuries – the amount you receive will depend on the extent of your injuries and supported by medical evidence
  • Loss of earnings
  • Damage to your bike and clothing
  • Medical treatment – including prescription charges, physiotherapy and rehabilitation

No Win No Fee

In most cases we will offer to act for you under a Conditional Fee Agreement, known as ‘no-win-no-fee’.  If we win your claim, then whilst you may have to make a modest contribution to the legal costs from your damages, just how much is carefully assessed on a case by case basis and agreed with you from the outset.

Where possible we will recover an interim payment to help with the immediate costs resulting from the accident. In the case of very serious accidents, we will also arrange for you to have a Case Manager to help manage and co-ordinate services to meet your health, care, educational and employment needs.
